Year 22: Transformation Through Accomplishment

True transformation most often comes through significant accomplishment.

Most of the students at Visible Music College are enrolled in one of our three year Bachelor of Arts programs. This gives them a solid core of ministry courses and education with a major in music, music production, music business, media, or ministry. Each of the programs finishes with a Senior Concert or Senior Project, a capstone final assignment that incorporates all of the knowledge a student has gained from their early days to recent repertoire. Students create and produce a one hour concert of a variety of music with a band and guest artists to show the accomplishment of three years of lessons, academic work, and skill building. We began to see another rise in quality of Senior Concerts that was very rewarding.

Videos of senior concerts are legendary and amazing. Find them online everywhere on student profiles.

Families see the difference. Staff see the difference. Peers see the difference. Friends back home see the difference. A student at Visible, after three years of The Visible Way, are entirely new artists and ministers - full of the Word, skilled in their craft, acknowledging the presence of God the Holy Spirit, knowledge of music and audio and community, and generally amazing leaders who have been challenged to be more than they were when they started at Visible. If a person stays the course for three years through relational ministry, aligned curriculum, numerous small to medium opportunities, they become aware and ready for big opportunities, tours with active CCM bands, positions of responsibility at church, and leaders to the next generation right behind them.

This is the transformation a Visible student goes through - it is stunning.

We keep reminders on the wall for the future students to see - deep worship nights, original music that is genre-bending, heavy music and light hearts, and folksy, fun, or flowery concert names and styles that permeate the program and adorn the library wall at Visible. You see the heart of every student emerge from the delicate ideas of themselves at 19 and become full dreams realized at 22...or older. The senior concert “hall of fame” is especially wonderful for me because, as the founder and only 25 year employee, I know every student on that wall and I attended many of those shows or watched and listened later. I’ve been thanked a ton of times up through last week. I got to see my first born son do his this month and perform with him. What an honor. But they are the ones who push through and win the day for their artistry and friends with an amazing concert, or two, or three, as they always over commit and help each other out on the other shows.

That is truly an accomplishment - to enjoy music and challenge so much that you go through the transformation for yourself and those around you. That is a Visible graduate.
