Year 13: Creativity is About the Team [Re-Post]

Vision and creative solutions happen when a team of people are looking in the right direction with solid shared values and passionate leadership. Visible year 13 brought another large group of super talented and (eventually married together) students from across the globe to the school and the first group of staff and students who only knew the Downtown campus emerged as a very creative year. Welcoming our first Caribbean student (Grenada) and numerous folks from Africa and more from Memphis, Visible began in earnest a path towards being among the top schools of ethnic diversity in Memphis and in the Christian education world. Small but mighty was the team of 2013, as we moved into a major new phase of the college - a new team for a new day of national tours, recording records with the newly formed Madison Line Records, and another shot at legitimacy with the Downtown campus.

Recordings happened every day in a new facility down the street on Madison. We were making summer schools happen in different countries. Students worked in Downtown coffeehouses and performed all over the city. Long term, we were to see a maturing group of students take jobs in churches and ministries globally and rise to their own fame from this group of talented and able musicians and producers and a resurgence of managers (the Smiths, the other Smiths, the Pruzinas, the Chaz, etc., etc.)

Creativity abounded. We added Dr. Pete Sanchez as VP of Academics and it was a new era for leadership with him and others he brought along. We had some fresh team and exciting momentum to get the right team in place. We were beginning to address the concerns of our partner churches in multiple sites who wanted us to have a presence there with small campuses and it became an idea to seed and plant them with the right team eventually.

We were trying to enjoy our new home, our new influx of students, our new apartment housing ideas, and meanwhile focus on the best team we could develop.
